This is a very important post. The other RPG posts may go into specific parts of the system, but this outlines the basics.
History Traits
- Spoiler:
Depending on your hometown, where you live, etc, you can have a history trait. These are basic traits, not giving too much of a bonus, but they also influence how others see you.
Equipment
- Spoiler:
Equipment plays a huge part in the forum. You may hold up to 100 Rupees to begin with, you may also carry up to 5 items (not including ammo, see ammo section) in your backpack. You may wield one item in your main hand, and another of you bear the required ability.
Abilities
- Spoiler:
Abilities are things that enable you to do various things. You may start with only one. You may earn as many as you can learn!
Ammo
- Spoiler:
Bombs, arrows, slingshots all carry ammo. Every time you fire, you lose 1 of the ammo for that weapon. You may fire as many times as you have ammo, and as many times as your skill permits per turn. You start with 1 ammo carrier. Ammo carriers can carry the following...
30 arrows
10 bombs
50 Slingshot Pellets
1 Lamp Refill
An Extra 50 Rupees
20 Throwing Darts
Ammo carriers can be purchased at various shops. You may also buy a specialized ammo carrier (such as a wallet for rupees or quiver for arrows) for a greater price, become limited to using only that type of ammo in it, but you can carry more than you normally could. Twice it. You can even buy magical containers to increase it further/
Melee
- Spoiler:
Melee combat is simple. You use your weapon to attack. You can attack twice if you are dual-wielding and/or have the ability needed. You can also block if you have a shield.
Traveling
- Spoiler:
It takes a certain amount of time to travel from place to place.
Players have a movement rating (depending on their method) and for every point in movement there is, you spend 1 real time hour getting there, + the distance. Some methods can get you there instantly, others lower the time beyond that!
Alignment
- Spoiler:
There is good, evil or neutral. It really only makes sense in RP, or for who you attack, but apart from that, it has no real use, apart from certain vendors may be scared of evil and give them discounts, whilst others may respect heroes and give them discounts.
